Our lesson today? Trust builds like a brick wall—slowly but steadily.

"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is about something very special—something that holds friendships and families together. Our lesson today? Trust builds like a brick wall—slowly but steadily. Now, trust isn’t something you get all at once. Nope! You build it, one little brick at a time—through honesty, consistency, and kindness. And let me tell you… I learned that lesson in a BIG way after I broke a promise to Teddy.""It all started one morning when Teddy asked me for a favor.‘Hey, Monkey,’ he said,‘can you save me a spot under the tree for our afternoon nap? It’s my favorite spot and I’ll be back after my walk with Dad.’ I nodded, my tail flicking.‘You got it, Teddy. Your spot is safe with me!’ But then… the sun came out. The tree looked extra comfy. And Brooklyn wanted to play‘Who Can Nap the Longest?’ So I stretched out right in Teddy’s spot and… well… I fell asleep. Teddy came back an hour later, and I woke up to the sound of his paws stopping in the grass.‘Monkey… I thought you were saving my spot?’ he asked, his ears tilted back. I yawned and said,‘Oh! Uh… yeah, I was, but then I got tired and…’ His tail dropped.‘It’s okay,’ he mumbled, walking away. But it wasn’t okay. Not really.""For the next couple of days, I noticed something different. Teddy still played with us, but he didn’t ask me for help with anything. He didn’t share his snacks like he used to, and he even chose a new nap spot—one farther from me. That’s when I realized something big: I had broken a brick of trust. So I went to Dad—who’s a teacher and always full of wisdom—and asked,‘How do I fix it?’ He put down his coffee and said,‘Well, Monkey, trust is like building a brick wall. Each time you do what you say you’re going to do, you add a brick. But when you break a promise, it’s like removing one of those bricks. The good news is—you can rebuild it. Slowly, but steadily.’ I nodded. It was time to start rebuilding.""The next day, I brought Teddy his favorite snack—peanut butter bones.‘Hey, Teddy,’ I said softly.‘I’m really sorry I broke my promise. You trusted me, and I didn’t keep my word. I’d like to start fixing that… one brick at a time.’ He looked at me for a moment, then nodded.‘Okay, Monkey. Thanks for saying that.’ So every day after that, I kept my promises.🔹If I said I’d meet him at the park, I showed up early.🔹If I offered to help, I followed through.🔹And slowly but surely… Teddy started trusting me again. It didn’t happen overnight. But it did happen. And that’s when I learned—real trust is built with actions, not just words." What We Learned Today🔹Trust takes time—it’s built one honest, caring action at a time.🔹A broken promise can hurt, but sincere effort can help rebuild what’s lost.🔹When you make a mistake, owning up to it is the first step toward trust.🔹Trust isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being dependable."So, here’s my challenge for YOU today: Be someone others can trust.✅If you say you’ll do something—do it.✅If you mess up—apologize and fix it.✅And most importantly—keep adding those trust bricks, one day at a time.
