Episode 23: "Kindness Should Be a Friendship’s Foundation"
"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! 🐾 Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is about something that holds every great friendship together—not toys, not treats, not even secrets…
Our lesson today? Kindness should be a friendship’s foundation.
You see, every strong friendship starts with something simple: being kind. Kind words, kind actions, kind hearts. Without kindness, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve known someone—it just doesn’t feel the same.
Let me tell you about the time I saw how one small act of kindness helped build a BIG bridge between two friends—who almost weren’t friends at all."

"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is about something that holds every great friendship together—not toys, not treats, not even secrets… Our lesson today? Kindness should be a friendship’s foundation. You see, every strong friendship starts with something simple: being kind. Kind words, kind actions, kind hearts. Without kindness, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve known someone—it just doesn’t feel the same. Let me tell you about the time I saw how one small act of kindness helped build a BIG bridge between two friends—who almost weren’t friends at all.""It all started one afternoon when Brooklyn and Olivff were in the backyard. Brooklyn had just found her favorite rope toy, and she was SO excited to show it off. She ran up to Olivff, wagging her tail.‘Wanna play tug-of-war with me?’ Now, if you know Olivff, my quiet and thoughtful feline sister, you know she’s not really into rough-and-tumble games. She prefers calm, quiet moments—like watching butterflies or reading stories with Mom, who’s an accountant and always has fun facts about numbers and patterns. Olivff gently shook her head.‘No thanks, Brooklyn. That game’s a little too wild for me.’ Brooklyn frowned.‘But it’s so fun! Come on, just try it!’‘I said no.’ Brooklyn didn’t mean to, but she tugged the rope a little harder.‘Why do you always have to be so boring?!’ Ouch. Olivff’s ears drooped. She turned and walked away, her tail dragging behind her. And just like that… a happy moment turned into a hurt one.""I watched it all happen, and my heart sank. Brooklyn didn’t mean to be unkind—but her words still hurt. Later, when I found her sitting under the tree with Teddy, I asked,‘Hey Brooklyn, can I ask you something?’ She nodded.‘Sure, Monkey.’‘Do you think kindness is important in a friendship?’ She blinked.‘Of course! Why?’ I gently said,‘Because kindness is like the foundation of a house. It’s what everything else is built on. Without it, things fall apart… kind of like what happened with Olivff today.’ Brooklyn looked down.‘I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings… I just wanted her to play with me.’ I nodded.‘I know. But what if instead of pushing, you found something she liked to do? That would show her kindness—and that her feelings matter, too.’ Brooklyn’s eyes lit up.‘You’re right! I’m gonna fix this!’""Brooklyn ran over to Olivff and gently placed the rope toy on the grass.‘I’m sorry I called you boring,’ she said softly.‘That wasn’t kind. I just really wanted to play with you. But maybe… we can do something you like instead?’ Olivff blinked.‘Really?’ Brooklyn wagged her tail.‘Yeah. Want to show me how to watch butterflies without scaring them off?’ Olivff smiled.‘Okay. But you have to walk really slow… and stay quiet.’ They both giggled—and just like that, their friendship was back on solid ground. All because Brooklyn remembered: Kindness builds everything." What We Learned Today🔹Kindness is the foundation of every strong friendship.🔹Even if we don’t mean to hurt someone, our words and actions matter.🔹Real friends care about what others enjoy—not just themselves.🔹It’s never too late to say I’m sorry and try again with kindness."So, here’s my challenge for YOU today: Build your friendships on kindness!✅Invite someone to play what they like.✅Say something encouraging to a friend who seems down.✅And if you say something that hurts—be brave enough to apologize and make it right. Thanks for tuning in to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! Don’t forget to subscribe, share, and most importantly—be the kind of friend who makes others feel safe, happy, and cared for. Until next time, my pawsome pals—keep choosing kindness, brick by brick! Bye for now!"
