"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is all about something we ALL face… even the bravest among us. Our lesson today? Courage helps you push through doubt. You see, courage doesn’t mean you never feel afraid or unsure—it means you keep going even when you do. And let me tell you, I had to dig deep for courage when I faced something I thought I couldn’t do—speaking at my first-ever backyard talent show.""Let’s rewind to last weekend. Dad—who, as you know, is a teacher—thought it would be fun to host a neighborhood talent show in our backyard.‘Everyone has a gift worth sharing,’ he said.‘This is your chance to shine!’ Brooklyn wagged her tail.‘I’m going to do a dance routine with my squeaky toys!’ Teddy said confidently,‘I’ll perform a scent-detection challenge!’ Olivff raised a paw.‘I’ll recite one of my original poems.’ And me? Well… I was supposed to tell a funny story. I wanted to. But as the big day got closer, something sneaky crept into my thoughts… doubt.‘What if no one laughs?’‘What if I forget my words?’‘What if I mess up in front of everyone?’ My tail drooped. My ears flattened. The night before the show, I even told Mom—our super-smart accountant—that I was thinking of backing out.""Mom sat beside me and said something I’ll never forget:‘Monkey, courage doesn’t mean you don’t feel nervous. It means you care enough to try anyway. Doubt is just a sign that something matters to you—and that’s exactly when you need courage the most.’ I blinked.‘So… I’m not weak because I feel scared?’ She shook her head.‘Not at all. You’re growing stronger every time you try, even when your paws are shaking.’ So, I made a choice. I would show up. I would speak. And even if my voice wobbled—I’d be proud I tried.""The day of the show arrived. The backyard was filled with friends—Max the parrot, Penny the bunny, even Whiskers McGrouch from next door sat in the shade with a skeptical look on his face. Brooklyn danced. Teddy wowed the crowd. Olivff’s poem made everyone‘aww.’ And then… it was my turn. I stepped up, heart thumping. I looked out at everyone. And then… I started to talk. At first, my voice was quiet. But with every word, it got stronger. My friends started laughing at the silly parts. Smiling at the sweet ones. Even Whiskers cracked a grin. When I finished, everyone cheered. And right then, I realized… I had doubts—but courage helped me push through. And because of that, I didn’t just share my story—I grew."
