"Courage Is Facing Problems, Not Avoiding Them" Episode 47

Don Fessenden Season 1 Episode 47

"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is about true courage—not the movie kind with capes and stunts, but the real-life kind that lives inside every one of us.

Our lesson today? Courage is facing problems, not avoiding them.

It’s easy to pretend a problem isn’t there. To walk away. To hope it fixes itself. But real courage means looking that problem in the eye—even if it’s scary—and saying, “Let’s do this.”

And I found that courage one rainy night… during the case of the missing kitten."

"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’m Monkey, your favorite talking cat, and today’s episode is about true courage: not the movie kind with capes and stunts, but the real-life kind that lives inside every one of us. Our lesson today? Courage is facing problems, not avoiding them. It’s easy to pretend a problem isn’t there. To walk away. To hope it fixes itself. But real courage means looking that problem in the eye: even if it’s scary: and saying,“Let’s do this.” And I found that courage one rainy night… during the case of the missing kitten.""It was storming outside. Rain tapped on the windows. Thunder rumbled. Then we heard it: a soft meow from outside the fence.‘Was that a kitten?’ Brooklyn asked.‘In this weather?’ Teddy said, alarmed. Olivff peered out.‘It’s too dark to see.’ Everyone looked at me. I swallowed hard. I didn’t want to go out there. Wet fur, loud thunder, cold paws… nope. I wanted to hide under the couch. But then I remembered what Dad: always says:‘Courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about doing what’s right even when you're scared.’ So I took a deep breath and grabbed a flashlight with my tail.""I pushed through the doggy door. Splash. Drip. Shiver. I followed the sound, meowing softly back. Past the bushes. Around the fence. And there: under the old shed: I saw a tiny kitten, shaking and scared.‘Hey, little one,’ I whispered.‘You’re not alone.’ With some gentle coaxing and teamwork and a warm towel from Mom: we brought the kitten inside. Warm, safe, and purring. Everyone cheered. Even Olivff smiled. Max flew a victory lap around the ceiling fan. And me? I realized something powerful: I didn’t want to go into that storm… but I’m so glad I did." What We Learned Today🔹Courage doesn’t mean you’re never scared: it means you act even when you are.🔹Avoiding a problem doesn’t solve it: but facing it can bring amazing results.🔹Small acts of bravery can make a big difference.🔹The more you face, the stronger your courage grows."So here’s my challenge for YOU today: Think of one small problem you’ve been avoiding… and take one brave step toward it.✅Talk to someone about it.✅Make a plan.✅Or simply say,‘I’m ready to face this.’ Because courage doesn’t show up all at once: it builds, step by step.
